Kuala Lumpur, 14 September 2019 —The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and its major sponsor Forest Interactive recently held the latest edition of the #mydigitalmaker Fair at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center.
The #mydigitalmaker program is one of Level Up @ Schools’ major initiatives. Level Up @ Schools is the educational arm of MDEC that holds seminars—taught by Unity—in schools around the country. Through the #mydigitalmaker program, Malaysian youth learn about various industries and disciplines like robotics, engineering, and programming.
Forest Interactive, as part of its mission to make Malaysia’s digital economy flourish, participated as a major sponsor of three #mydigitalmaker events in Penang, Pahang, and Perak. Forest Interactive employees shared their expertise and also served as judges for the competition part of the program.
After each seminar, students are encouraged to participate in the #mydigitalmaker competition. Forest Interactive Software Development Manager, Kenneth Ng, along with other industry experts, served as one of the judges for #mydigitalmaker.“We want to encourage the youth of Malaysia to engage in the digital industry and show that such a young, burgeoning industry is heavily reliant on the youth and that it is up to them to sustain it,” said Forest Interactive Software Development Manager Kenneth Ng.
Also present at the event as an exhibitor was Wallet Codes. At the Wallet Codes booth, event attendees were encouraged to play games and a special on-site sale was held. There, gamers were able to purchase their favorite gaming currency from the likes of Mobile Legends Diamonds, STEAM, and PSN, and pay directly with cash.
Forest Interactive has been a strong supporter of MDEC and its many initiatives and programs for the past years. Through this partnership, the hopes of Malaysia’s digital landscape are looking brighter than ever.
