PUCHONG, SELANGOR, 24 August 2025 — Newly enrolled scholars of Axiata Foundation from the All-Star Bestari Scholarship have completed an eye opening experience with Onboarding Camp: Step into Confidence at Espira Kinrara, Puchong where Forest Interactive Foundation was specially invited to deliver a series of practical training sessions aimed at preparing these young scholars for a successful transition to university life and the digital world beyond. As part of its commitment to nurture future innovators and digital-savvy youth, Forest Interactive Foundation designed and facilitated a series of interactive modules that gave the scholars a clear pathway to build their personal brand, develop a professional online presence, and tell their unique stories with confidence and authenticity.

Axiata Foundation recently hosted its Onboarding Camp: Step into Confidence at Espira Kinrara, Puchong, welcoming newly enrolled scholars under the All-Star Bestari Scholarship programme. The camp served as a pivotal experience designed to help the scholars navigate their transition into university life and the digital future ahead.

To further enrich the experience, Axiata Foundation invited Forest Interactive Foundation to conduct a series of dynamic, hands-on training sessions. These sessions equipped scholars with the tools to build their personal brand, develop a professional online presence, and communicate their stories with confidence and authenticity, all in line with Axiata Foundation’s mission to nurture future-ready, digitally empowered youth.

Over two days, Forest Interactive Foundation team guided scholars through a structured learning journey on the first day with Adaptability and Resilience, a session that encouraged students to embrace change, manage challenges, and build a growth mindset. This opened the door for deeper self-awareness and built a supportive environment where participants felt comfortable expressing their thoughts. In this session, scholars were actively engaged through a series of roleplay exercises that placed them in real-life scenarios where adaptability was key. These interactive activities challenged participants to think on their feet, manage change, and respond to unexpected challenges with confidence. The roleplays not only strengthened their problem-solving skills but also encouraged teamwork and empathy, creating a supportive environment where students could learn from one another’s perspectives.

Building on this, the Social Branding session helped scholars explore how to communicate their identity authentically and align their values with their academic and professional goals. During the night session, one of the most practical highlights took place during the E-Portfolio Workshop, where scholars received hands-on guidance to create compelling digital resumes

and portfolios that go beyond listing grades and certificates. They learned how to organise their achievements, showcase extracurricular involvement, and present their skills and projects in a format that resonates with academic institutions and the job market.

The program continued the next morning with Resume and LinkedIn: You Are the Brand and Digital Branding. These modules introduced scholars to the fundamentals of building impactful resumes and credible LinkedIn profiles that are essential tools for connecting with networks, mentors, and future career opportunities. The activities emphasised that every scholar has a unique story to tell. Participants explored how to communicate their identity and strengths consistently, both online and offline. They learned how to align their academic ambitions with their passions, creating a story that makes them stand out in a competitive landscape.

To round off the training, scholars participated in Networking & Currency Mixer, an engaging activity that taught them how to identify the value they can offer to others and how to build meaningful, mutually beneficial connections with a mindset that will help them make the most of their time at university and in future professional spaces. This session was equally dynamic, featuring roleplay activities that simulated real networking events. Scholars practiced introducing themselves, sharing the unique value they bring to others and building connections in a professional yet approachable manner. These exercises gave participants the confidence to step outside their comfort zones and provided them with practical skills they can apply in university settings, scholarship interviews, and future professional spaces.

Aareena, a senior programme executive at Axiata Foundation from the scholarship programme , shared that the camp helped strengthen scholars’ skills beyond academics. “This may not be their first time learning about these topics, but the camp gave them a stronger foundation. With guidance from Forest Interactive Foundation, they not only built on what they already know but also learned how to handle real situations and make better choices for their future,” she said. The All-Star Bestari Scholarship Onboarding Camp, enriched by Forest Interactive Foundation’s contribution, not only equipped scholars with practical tools but also inspired them to step into their academic journey with confidence. By combining personal growth, digital readiness, and professional skills, the camp reflected a shared commitment between Axiata Foundation and Forest Interactive Foundation to nurture resilient, future-ready youth who are prepared to thrive in university and beyond. The camp proved to be more than just an introduction to scholarship life. It was a journey of self-discovery and growth, where scholars learned to embrace challenges, enhance their soft skills, and build meaningful connections with their peers. Through this initiative, Axiata Foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to shaping the next generation of Malaysian leaders — confident, tech-savvy, and ready to make a lasting impact on society.
