BANDUNG: Forest Interactive Indonesia organizes Berbagi Takjil, an annual initiative during Ramadan, to celebrate and share the blessings of the Muslim’s holy month with communities in Mekarwangi, Bandung.
A total of 100 snack packages were distributed on April 21, 2022 to homeless around the area with the help of nine volunteers from Indonesia-based talents. The program was made possible through an internal fundraising from the company’s own talents.
“The holy month of Ramadan has taught us about solidarity. It is the perfect moment for us at Forest Interactive to incorporate the value of sharing in our daily lives. We want the people around us to also be able to celebrate and feel the joy of Ramadan. We hope that Berbagi Takjil can inspire people to give back and lend a helping hand, all for the betterment of society,” said Vita Paulina, Marketing and Operational Manager at Forest Interactive.
“This program is a continuation from our previous initiative called #DukungBisnisKecil. The initiative aimed to not just give away food to the public, but also to empower the small businesses by buying food from them. We hope that the spirit of sharing is not just practised during Ramadan, but also in our daily lives,” Vita added.
The pandemic has affected people around the world in many aspects of their lives, especially financially. This initiative is a testament to the company’s undivided commitment to bring the communities together in times of need.
The items for the donation were bought from Fadlan, a seller based in Cibogo Market, West Bandung.
“I would like to express my utmost gratitude towards Forest Interactive for helping small businesses such as mine,” she said.
One of those who received the Berbagi Takjil was Raihan, who works for Al-Firdaus Mosque in Mekarwangi also expressed his gratitude.
“Alhamdulillah, I am thankful for this blessings and everyone involved from Forest Interactive,” said Raihan after receiving the snacks.
